The daily focus of our trek is threefold: first, to use our personal experiences to bring hope to cancer patients we meet along the way; second, to educate others we meet about cancer; last, to urge everyone we meet to join us in our fight against cancer. For more than 25 years, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has been a global leader in the fight against breast cancer through its support of innovative research and community-based outreach programs. Since it's inception the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has invested more than $630 million in breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs.

The Komen Foundation spends 75 cents of every dollar it receives on breast cancer research, helping those with breast cancer and other related services. Only 22 cents of every dollar is spent on administrative and fundraising costs. The Susan G. Komen Foundation meets the standards of charity accountability set forth by the BBB Wise Giving Alliance (Give.org) which is a charity watchdog organization that allows donors to see if a charity uses donations wisely.
